A two person drama displaying the names of God,

who He is, and His closeness to us. Often times

the first thing we learn about a person is their

name "hello my name is" fill in the blank. As we

grow in relationship with a person we begin to

know the depth of their character. In scripture

we are introduced to God through a name within

the first sentence "In the beginning God

(Elohim) created..." As we continue to read

scripture and learn the many names of the One

true God, we see that each name points to a

specific characteristic. Our relationship

deepens as we personally learn who God is. In

this short sketch, one character is facing life,

it's problems, it's burdens. The other character

represents God. We see His deep knowledge of us,

and His desire for a relationship with us. As

the one character goes on about the worries, the

lies, the burdens, the "God" character steps

closer each time. Then we see them begin to take

steps towards each other until in the end He

reaches out His hand and the other character

hands the bag of burdens over. Surrender.

Note: while this was originally done with a

woman as Character 1 and a man as Character 2, character 1 could be played by a man.
