As you gather around with family and friends, use this fun storytelling game to share the reason for the Season, Jesus!
Gather everybody in a circle.
There can be one, several, or a gift in each person's hand.
Every time any version of the word right or left is used, it is said to pass the gift(s) in that direction.
In the end, the gifts land where they may!
Merry Christmas!
Twas right before Christmas, that first Christmas Day
Mary and Joseph had left on a journey a distance away
The king had announced that the people would be counted
So they left to their cities, Right when they announced this
So they left for the townÂ
They went right away
They left and would journey as long as it takes.
But Mary was pregnantÂ
Could today be the right day?
Would the savior be born to the world, right here today?
When they got to the right city called Bethlehem
They saw it was crowded with no room left for them
The city it bustled from left and from right
Right now, Mary and Joseph were left with no room for the night
No room left in the inn
Left with no rooms to spare
The only place left, a stable to share
Right there with animal noises filling the air
So they left to the manger
And it happened that night
Right there, the savior of the world was bornÂ
The son of God was right there in sight
The king of kings right there in a stable with hay
Left Heaven to a cold humble stable
That first Christmas Day
He came to take the sins of the world
He came to make us right.
So as you read this poem I write
Remember that Jesus is the LightÂ
Stop right now, take that in.Â
Jesus left Heaven
and would be the final sacrifice to take away our sin.
The story of Christmas is Good News for allÂ
It’s good news for right now
It’s good news for all time
The savior of the world left Heaven
Because of his love for mankind
So as you open your presents left under the tree
Right now remember we are really saying Happy Birthday to the new baby king
So Right now stand up, Say with all of your might
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!
